Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick. I'm walking in March for Babies because I want to do something about this.  I need your help.
Please support my walk.
The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

Here is my Story

At 26 weeks pregnant I was diagnosed with ruptured membranes(water broke) and admitted to BSA.  Every hour, minute and second that went by was time that we were thankful for as it allowed my baby more time to grow.  The feeling of the "unknown" for what the future would hold was the most overwhelming feeling I had ever felt.  I made the best decision ever and joined with those around me to place it all in God's hands.  I held on to my faith, day by day until there wasn't anything else we could do to keep her from coming.

After three weeks in the hospital, I delivered a 3lb 1oz baby on August 6, 2010.  She was born breathing on her own and admitted into NICU without any major complications.

My life in the NICU was a rollercoaster ride.  She had good days and she had not so good days.  I clearly remember the tension I felt the days she wasn't feeding the way she should, her temperature was up, or was experiencing something that would consider her off the charts for a perfect day.

After six weeks in NICU she was released and was able to come home on an apnea monitor to monitor her breathing and heart rate.  Two weeks before Christmas we received a nice Christmas gift as her nurse called and told us her reports were fine and no longer needed to be monitored.

Now at six months, Adilyn is on the curve of the growth chart for a baby her age.  She is a happy and fun baby who on a daily basis reminds me about the grace, mercy, power and love of God.

Before she was born NICU staff and people who had experienced premature labor prepared me for what could be expected.

1.  Ventilators...Addy didn't need it, she was breathing on her own with the help of room air or 21% oxygen.
2.  Blood transfusions....Addy didn't need one.
3.  Surgeries.........Addy didn't need any as all of her x-ray results were normal.
4.  Mickey buttons used to feed a baby when they can't take a bottle or nurse....Addy didn't need one, she took the first bottle and every bottle after the first try.
5.  Bleed to the brain...sometimes happens when baby's are born too early.

the list goes on....

As you can see, I have a lot to be thankful for and cannot let this event go by without walking in honor of my baby and giving God the glory and thanks for allowing me to hold and rock to bed a fun, loving, healthy baby girl every night.

Therefore, I am asking you to please support my walk. My family team name is "Grace through Faith".
